ELTchat Review – Taboo subjects and using L1 in the classroom

Well we had two more great sessions on #ELTchat with masses of information changing hands and people with very differing views discussing the pros and cons of the two topics.

The first session looked at the issue of taboo subjects in the ELT classroom.  Mike Harrison got the ball rolling with some good observations and ideas on this.  Sue Lyon-Jones followed this up with her take on things and offered some useful ideas to add to your teaching approach.

Marisa talked to Luke Meddings after the second session and got his views on using L1 in the classroom.  His comments will definitely strike a chord with many teachers struggling with dilemma of how to form their lessons.

Thanks as always to all our contributors, and we hope you enjoy the show.
