Since we started #ELTchat in September 2010, we have discussed a wide number of topics, but with many new members joining our conversations every week, it is very natural that we will get requests for topics which we “have done”.

Intercultural Communication – what do our learners need to know, and how should we try to teach it?
I’m not sure what the title would exactly be but I would like to suggest a chat on Dogme – how teachers use it, have they used it successfully? Something along those lines.
What do you wish you’d learned on your CELTA and/or other teacher training course?
Anthony, if you search for ‘dogme’ on the summaries index page (Ctrl+F) you will see that we have done at least three #ELTchats, if not more, on this topic. Have a look through the summaries and if you can suggest a new angle to the topic, do let us know by replying to this comment. 🙂
Does CELTA need a face-lift/botox? Has it been able to keep up with changing times? Or doesn’t it need to?
I saw KELTchat’s recent chat on critical pedogogy was lively and interesting. There seems to be a lot to say on this topic for teachers around the world. I am not sure on the wording or exact title but something like “Critical Pedagogy and what it means to you” might be a nice idea.
I was at the KELTchat yesterday too and I agree Barry there was loads to say and loads still left to say. They may be thinking of a part 2?? I’d also be interested in debating more on this somewhat ‘philosophical’ borderline ‘political’ topic.
I’ve checked out the summaries – DOGME has definitely been covered at many angles, so I wouldn’t suggest it for the upcoming ELT Chat. 🙂

Sorry Marisa, was out all day, it’s about critical pedagogy. How do we teach English keeping the balance between ‘extending the Ss’ sphere or reference’ and their own cultural identity?
