#ELTchat is a hashtag created in 2010 by a group of ELT colleagues who saw the potential in twitter conversations and information sharing.

It is a freely available social network for ELT professionals offering mutual support and opportunities for Continuous Professional Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, every Wednesday, ELT teachers from all over the world can log into their Twitter account and for one hour hold an online discussion on a topic they have selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to take part <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To join in you just have to follow the hashtag #ELTChat. To do this, type #ELTchat in the search box on twitter and save the search.  All the tweets which contain the hashtag will appear on your timeline. Click on ‘Latest’ at the top (not ‘Top’ )<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll see the conversation and anything you tag with #ELTChat will be part of it<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you already use a Twitter app like Hootsuite or Tweetdeck, you can follow #ELTChat in there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
