{"id":68,"date":"2010-09-17T18:11:45","date_gmt":"2010-09-17T16:11:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eltchat.com\/?p=68"},"modified":"2010-09-17T18:11:45","modified_gmt":"2010-09-17T16:11:45","slug":"eltchat-week-2-what-topics-would-you-like-to-talk-about","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eltchat.org\/index.php\/2010\/09\/17\/eltchat-week-2-what-topics-would-you-like-to-talk-about\/","title":{"rendered":"#ELTchat Week 2: What topics would you like to talk about?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>#ELTchat was launched this past Wednesday with more than 100 Twitter users participating in the afternoon and evening chats at 15:00 and 21:00 London time.<\/p>\n<p>More than 1000 tweets were sent during these two lively discussions and already there is great anticipation by many who missed the first one and are eagerly looking forward to the second one!<\/p>\n<p>We all have a good feeling about kick off day and need to send a big thank you to all the members of our PLN who participated with great enthusiasm and gave #ELTchat such good vibes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blog Posts about the 1st #ELTchat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two blog posts have already been writter about it! \u00a0The first one \u00a0was written by Tara Berwell (<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/tarabenwell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@tarabenwell<\/a> on Twitter), an #ELTchatter herself on our first day, who wrote a great post with the title <a href=\"http:\/\/edition.tefl.net\/ideas\/collaborative-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Collaborative Projects for Practising English<\/strong> <\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tara wrote about the experience of following many simultaneous conversations, which is quite normal in a chat of this kind, and is inviting #ELTchatters to build on the topic of the first chat , <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/eltchat.com\/chat-transcripts\/how-do-we-best-motivate-learners-to-practice-outside-the-classroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How to Motivate Students to practise English outside of class<\/a>, <\/strong>by creating and adding to a list of ideas of collaborative projects to help students practise their English the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is fantastic, as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tefl.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>TEFL.net<\/strong> <\/a> pages and\u00a0blogs are read by many teachers around the world who might be encouraged to step forward and join us! Thank you, Tara!<\/p>\n<p>The second one, \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/eltchat.com\/chat-transcripts\/how-do-we-best-motivate-learners-to-practice-outside-the-classroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Participating in ELT chat on Twitter<\/a>,\u00a0was posted on Aiden Yeh&#8217;s blog (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/motherchina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@motherchina<\/a> on Twitter).
