#ELTchat<\/a> is a (more or less) hour-long conversation which takes place on Twitter<\/u><\/a> every Wednesday at 20:00 GMT\/UTC.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

On Saturdays one of the moderators puts up a blog post where followers can propose topics for the following Wednesday. Once the moderators have reviewed the topics they create an online poll and #ELTchat<\/a> followers are asked to vote.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Summaries and Transcripts Index<\/a><\/strong><\/span>
\n At the end of the chat someone \u2018volunteers\u2019 to make a Summary of the discussion, the moderators providing the Transcript.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

  1. Whiteboards.<\/strong> I think we were unanimous in putting these first as the in terms of usefulness. . Mini-whiteboards (either laminate A4 or stick in a polypocket) suggested by Teresa Bestwick. Magic Whiteboard<\/a><\/strong> could be useful but it\u2019s pricey.<\/li>\n
  2. Coloured markers<\/strong>: another polyvalent low tech tool.<\/li>\n
  3. Cork bulletin boards.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Interactive whiteboards were<\/strong> not so popular but I find Explain Everything<\/a><\/strong> intriguing.<\/li>\n
  5. Marisa Constantinides has created a Padlet<\/a><\/strong> with all the tools that were suggested here: #ELTchat Tools Swapshop<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. A lot of people use various Google Tools:\u00a0Google Docs<\/a>,\u00a0Google Slides<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. I think that the only Content Management System<\/strong> mentioned was WordPress<\/a><\/strong>. Google Tools can\u00a0easily be inserted into WordPress pages with the addon: Google for WordPress<\/a><\/strong>.* I think there\u2019s a similar tool for Moodle.<\/li>\n
  8. On the other hand several Learning Mangement Systems<\/strong> were mentioned\u00a0which have integrated tools (forums, wikis, etc.) and students\u2019 work can be tracked and graded.

  9. Who doesn\u2019t know Kindle<\/a><\/strong>? But how to use it in class?<\/li>\n
