Our Summaries & Transcripts Index

Here you can find links to all the transcripts and summaries available

Read those great posts which we have collected and make sure you visit the pages of the bloggers who contributed them too!!!!r topics which we “have done”.

Since we started #ELTchat in September 2010, we have discussed a wide number of topics, but with many new members joining our conversations every week, it is very natural that we will get requests for topics which we “have done”.

  1. David Petrie says:

I’m not sure if this would work for a whole chat or not, but I’m interested in finding out about the different ‘Learning Management Systems’ (online or offline) that people use or have found effective.

  2. Marisa says:

I think that’s a very good topic – I have used a variety and would be happy to discuss them

  3. Teaching casual conversation skills

  4. Marisa says:

    You mean small talk Leslie?

  5. Micaela says:

Since we’re at the beginning of the school year, maybe we could discuss and share ideas about fundamental topics such as exploiting a written text or introducing and using the phonetic alphabet.

  6. I don’t know if I can make either chat on Wed but I would second David Petrie’s suggestion, as I have just had to learn one for my new job. We did a similar chat back in Nov 2011 – http://bit.ly/1aNbDm9 – on Virtual Learning Environments – but it could do with an update. Don’t think we’ve done one specifically on effective (or otherwise) LMS.

  7. Marisa, probably, but that may depend on what you mean by ‘small talk’. 🙂
I didn’t want to narrow it too much, but the types of things I was thinking of would include:
    – Improving ability to take part in natural conversations (esp in social and workplace contexts)
    – moving from using scripted chunks to being able to deal with topic changes
I’m not thinking of lower levels, but don’t want to restrict what others might be interested in.

  8. Marisa says:

OK Lesley, thanks for clarification – helps when I formulate the topic 🙂

  9. Marisa says:

Micaela, thanks for suggestions but we have run different chats on reading or using the IPA – please check the summaries

  10. Marisa says:

@Micaela – had a closer look and we haven’t done a general introduction to teaching reading – will add to the poll
