The top choice in the poll will be discussed at 21.00 p.m. and the 2nd choice at 12.00 p.m. GMT

Please bear in mind that if you are proposing a topic you should try and join the chat if it is chosen (though time zones can make that difficult). Please also note that the chat moderators do monitor the voting. There have been recent cases of block voting which has skewed and manipulated the polls. Since we started #ELTchat in September 2010, we have discussed a wide number of topics, but with many new members joining our conversations every week, it is very natural that we will get requests for topics which we “have done”.
Please, include topics which
- have not been covered already in previous #ELTchats
- are relevant to ELT teachers and teaching foreign languages
- are not targeted attacks on individuals or institutions
- are simply and clearly expressed.
The #ELTchat moderators reserve the right not to post comments or to include them in the poll if they do not follow the above guidelines.

Right here’s a little story which explains my topic idea.
I was in Krakow recently and noticed that lots of the schools stated they had “brilliant/unique/amazing methodology” that was clearly different from other schools. Some of them I noticed the descriptions of them didn’t seem to be that different from other methodologies that had been around for a long time. But it makes me wondered…
Does/should Marketing affect English language teaching?
Sorry for the long explanation.
Here are my suggestions for the next talk:
1. How can teachers prepare to give a talk at a conference?
2. What tools are there for teachers giving a talk?
3. Does CLT place more focus on learners that are more confident? What about the quieter students in the classroom?
4. What are the disadvantages to the CEF is curriculum and syllabus design?
Hope that gives some others other inspiration. 🙂
How to teach grammar at zero level?
What is your immediate teaching goal? In other words, what do you want to achieve by next Friday in your classes?
